Junior Cricket Rules

The Game

A team shall consist of six (6) players, with a minimum of four (4) players required in any one game.
Each game of indoor cricket consists of two (2) x Twelve (12) over innings.

Each over consists of six (6) balls.Each batting pair will bat for four (4) overs each. Each bowler will bowl two (2) overs (not to be consecutive). Each wicket is worth minus five (-5) runs. The team with the highest score at the end of the game will be deemed the winner.

A maximum of one (1) extra run can be taken on each ball.

If batsmen do not cross for a run no bonus net runs will be awarded. If the score does not change for two (2) consecutive balls, on the third ball the score must change, or the batting pair will lose 5 runs. (This is called the 3rd ball rule).

Any leg side, no ball or wide bowled in the last over of an innings may be rebowled at the batter's request. Should another illegal ball be bowled this will not be rebowled, however the last ball of each innings must be a legal ball and will be rebowled indefinitely unless the batter requests for this not to happen. 

Premiership Table

During the season a premiership ladder will be displayed on the ladder board. At the end of the season, the top four (4) sides will contest in the finals. Teams 1 and 4 will play each other, and teams 2 and 3 will play each other in the semi finals. The winners of these semi finals will play in the grand final.

Premiership Points

Three (3) points will be awarded to the winning side.

One (1) bonus point will be awarded for each skin won.

Finals Qualification

Players must play 1/3rd of their teams fixtured games to qualify for finals. Allk players must have their details correctly filled out on the team sheet which includes name, address, phone number and date of birth.

Methods of dismissal

Bowled, Stumped, Caught (off all nets except the back net), Lbw (only when the batsmen offers no shot, and the ball in the umpires opinion would have broken the stumps, Interference - where the batsmen obstructs fieldsman or the ball in play deliberately and Mankad.


At least 48 hours notice must be given for any forfeit. Failure to give this notice will result in a $60 forfeit fine. This policy is to protect your competition, please respect it.
